It`s been a very long time since the idol metal group nIo (new Idol order) has been on our site. A lot has taken place in their time away, including member changes, image changes, music changes and name changes.
Currently nIo is working under the name nIo-Destroy and they have entered into a collaboration with doom metal band Genocide nippon. Genocide nippon made their debut in 1979 and carry comparisons to the British heavy metal band Angel Witch of the same time period.
Some may even say these doom metal artists touch a little on early Mercyful Fate. Genocide Nippon sound is really raw less produced sound, which is typical from the era the band came out of.
With nIo-Destroy “DOOMSDAY” that same formula is used to give the single that raw old school feel, with doom metal wrappings.
Even with the new direction and the new member in the white princess, there is something missing and that is the two original members. With them it would have made a good song better. I am not above saying that I miss the original lineup.
This current lineup of the group has a bit of mystery to them, and Manami.D (no.2 in first version) is my favorite out of the original line up, so her dark charm is welcomed in the MV and Aozora.D if any girl dissevered a leading role in a horror film it`s her, she is haunting in her beauty as well as having an hypnotizing look that draws you in to her arms. Takeuchi rounds out the vocal trio with his vocal style that give the single a bit of King Diamond theatrical gloom.
If “DOOMSDAY” is not enough to sell you on the single the coupling track “LIVELEGEND” will. It is 9 minutes of nIo-Destroy at its finest.
nIo-Destroy the darkness never looked so cute.
Single tracks performed live (Aozora.D stage presence is hypnotizing) forget Idol dancing this group is about the metal, gloom and theatrics
The World Begins to End August 26th When “DOOMSDAY” by nIo-Destroy, their major debut hits the stores.
