One of the great things about this current Idol boom is that there is a wide range of Idol groups. While some may rightfully argue that this surge in Idol genre is much like the hair metal days of the 1980s which ended up in the oversaturation of the metal genre.
While it is true that there are 100s of active Idol groups and it has resulted in many groups not being able to break out to join the mainstream Idol ranks ,it does make doing this site a lot of fun each week.
The hardest thing for Idols is to stand out in the pack and like all Idol groups these three are looking to make a name for themselves and be the next big thing.

PIP: Platonics Idol Platform
PIP is an Idol group that I first heard about a few months ago . PIP is produced by scholar Satoshi Hamano .Hamano an infrastructure researcher created PIP after becoming fascinated with examining the working infrastructure of AKB48. Hamano wanted to take the framework of the AKB48 system and see if it would work with an Idol group that does not have the same economics and options that the members of the 48 family of groups have.
Hamano`s goal is to see if limited funded Idols groups can take the same formula and breakout of the Indie Idol Underground. Since their debut in June 2014 PIP has performed in such unlikely places as university classrooms and corporate offices.
